21 Day Fix Calorie-Free Modifications

Spic up your broccoli! – Add some lemon zest to steamed broccoli and drizzle it with balsamic vinegar.

Love apple pie? – Use a purple and blue container to mix together walnuts, green apple, and simply top it off with cinnamon.

Try a Southwestern style of your brown rice! – Use a yellow container of brown rice. Then add some cilantro. You can also make use of ancho chile powder or cumin, and shake.

Simple and delicious chicken! – Take some Smoky Southwest seasoning (recipe is on pg. 43 of the 21 Day Fix guide) to diced, plain cooked chicken breast!

Love Guacamole? – Simply mash an avocado, add lime juice, chopped jalapeno, cilantro, and diced tomatoes (in this recipe it counts as a free food, because you’re only using a little bit), and a touch of cumin.

Need a New Salad Dressing? – Make a Balsamic Vinegar dressing (recipe is on pg. 56) and add basil for a slightly different flavor that will be amazing on your salad!

Simple tips… To easily add flavor to your meals, make your seasonings in advance and store them in spice jars. Then they’ll be ready anytime you need them. And, you can always combine containers! The chicken, brown rice, and dressing would taste amazing together!

Love mixed vegetables? – Steam any mix of vegetables you want. Then add fresh herbs like chive and basil or anything else you like. Then add some cumin and chili powder if you like. Then shake it up.

Love desserts? – Use a purple container of strawberries, some lemon zest, and drizzle some balsamic glaze. Then mix it up.

Love eggs? – Hard boil 2 eggs, add a teaspoon of Dijon mustard, chopped up dill, and mix it up. You can use this in a sandwich, on a salad, as a side, or anything else you can think of.

Want to try something different? – Fill a yellow container with red quinoa (this is a little more crunchy and has more of a nutty flavor) and then simply add some rice vinegar. This will taste like sushi rice 🙂

Love nuts? – Dry roast some nuts like cashews. Before roasting add a little cayenne pepper and smoked paprika. Cook for about 2 minutes and keep a close eye on them because they can burn quickly.

Want a sweet treat? – Roast pumpkin seeds. Before roasting sprinkle in some coffee grounds and cinnamon. Enjoy!
